DAY 30: Back to back Challenge

This would be the last entry for my 30 day back to back challenge! YIPEE! I suceeded finishing it! * Pats myself on the back* Imaginary High five's self! Hahaha Ok ok enough of my autistic self talking and doing shizz by myself... Here it is then...

Makeup Challenge- DAY 30
Picture of yourself with and without wearing makeup?

30 Day Challenge- DAY 30
When were the happiest days of your life?

I would have to say that eventhough my family is not complete right now, this would have to be the happiest days of my life! I know I still haven't accomplished my greatest goal in life but I am getting there one baby step at a time! :) I am really excited and happy for the days ahead! :)

DAY 29: Back to back Challenge

Makeup Challenge- DAY 29
Do you like wearing liquid liner? (if so, what’s your favorite)

Yes I do like wearing liquid eyeliner, especially when I am in a hurry... i really like the one by ELF, which looks much like a sharpie pen to me... hihi I get to draw a very thin line or a thick line without getting any boo boos... Its just like drawing a line on paper using a pen which is why I like it so much. :)

OOTD: 10/27/12

Hello lovelies! Remember my blog post last week regarding an invite for a Makeup party? (click here to read it if you haven't! hihi ) Well, the event was held yesterday! :) The theme of the party was "Party Chic", when we were contacted by Ms. Ana who is the Liason officer of E'BTG, she told us that although there is no specific color theme, it would be best if we could wear pink to the event.

I was literally pulling out all of my pink clothes out of my clothes' box just to find that perfect pink dress to wear! :)  I actually wasn't too sure about the party chic theme so I had to google it... It was supposed to be not too formal neither too casual... :) I had a specific look in mind which was to wear a mullet type of dress, and I didn't have one unfortunately, so my bf had this idea of going to divi! :) And lo and behold different types of skirts to choose from! But I decided to stick with the look that I originally thought of... so here was the the outfit I wore...

Top- Actually a dress from RIOT. Pink Tube dress with see-thru lace details.
Skirt- Black mullet skirt from Divi.
Shoes- Montego Bay Club
Belt- From my mom's closet... hihi

Notice the watermark? hihi My blogger friend Svetlani who also came to the event told me to put watermarks on my photos... I know I am supposed to do this so as to prevent others from copying my photos and posting it as their own but I am just too plain lazy at times, so hopefully from now on I will be able to do this for all of my pictures! :)

For my LOTD to complete this look, I put my hair up in a semi high pony tail with a pouf on the front.

Face: Celeteque hydration moisturizer
          Encara BB Cream
          L'Oreal True Match foundation
Eyes: Virginia Olsen in Diamond cluster for the inner lids
NYX JEP in Milk as base
Hot Pink from my matte palette on the crease and outer lower lids
Lips: Kat Von D Lipstick in Cathedral
         Nichido Lip liner in Rossette

*I forget to take a close up picture! Sorry ladies!

Moi with le bf! :)

Going home from the Makeup party with a different face makeup! ( read my event post to see why! )

Later in the event Ms. Myla Upshaw of MyMy Blog and Everything 'Bout The Girl said that wearing pink for that day was to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month for this month of October. :)

I will be posting another entry for the makeup party once I finish watermarking all my photos... :)

What do you think of my OOTD?

DAY 28: Back to back Challenge

Makeup Challenge- DAY 28
Favorite makeup remover?

My favorite makeup remover is the Maybelline Make up remover. It is relatively cheap, easy to find in drugstores, doesn't feel too oily on my skin, washes off easily, not too harsh for my sensitive skin and it doesn't give me break outs and stuff.. :P

30 Day Challenge- DAY 28
Tattoos. If you have one, post it and its story. If not, what do you want?

I am actually not a tattoo person... But IF I would get one maybe I would want my name and birth date tatooed somewhere not too obvious so that when I get amnesia or I get lost or something I would at least know my name... hahaha :p

DAY 27: Back to back Challenge

Has it been 27 days already? OMG! Only 3 more days are left before I finish this back to back challenge! I can't believe how fast time flies! :) For my blogger friends who will be doing this challenge next month I hope you will enjoy doing this too as much as I did! :)

Makeup Challenge- DAY
Favorite powder?

My favorite powder would have to be the cinema secrets two way powder, because it sets my foundation or bb cream very nicely and doesn't cake up on my face. :)

30 Day Challenge- DAY
What do you feel guilty for doing?

Hmmm... I think I really have not done anything that I feel guilty about... I think? hahaha

DAY 26: Back to back Challenge

Makeup Challenge- DAY 26
Do you wear makeup everyday?

Nope! Absolutely not! I go out bare face most of the time with just moisturizer on. I know I am a beauty blogger but beauty does not always equate to a made up face. For me being confident and happy is enough to be beautiful everyday. :)

30 Day Challenge- DAY 26
What’s something you’re really excited for?

I am really excited with the coming months... I will be starting junior internship next month and then Christmas is also coming in less than 100 days I think which is my most favorite month of the year. :) I am also excited with the blog hop that my blogger friend Milna, then my upcoming giveaway and contest. :)

I do hope you are excited about this too! :)

How about you ladies, what are the things that you are excited for? :) Care to share? :)

DAY 25: Back to back Challenge

Makeup Challenge- DAY 25
Favorite eyeliner?

My favorite eyeliner would have to be the Bobbi Brown long wear gel eyeliner in Sepia Ink and Black Ink. These eyeliners are very easy to apply using the ultrafine eyeliner brush included in the box. They kid us not when they said long wear! It won't budge and stays on as long as you want it to and can only be removed by makeup remover or extremely painstaking washing... :D

30 Day Challenge- DAY 25
Write 5 messages to 5 different people without using names.

1) Hi_____, you know we miss you so much and we love you. I know you are watching over us every single day of our lives from up there! :) I hope you are very proud of us... Two more professionals have been added to our list and more to go! :) We will never forget the things that you taught us, how you taught us to work hard and to be the best in whatever we chose to do but most especially, how you taught us to never forget to thank the Lord for everything and to lift up everything that we do to HIM. We love you!

2) Hello ____, eventhough I never got to hold you and got to know you more. I want you to know that the months that we shared together we one of the best in my life eventhough the times we went through were tough. I know you are now one of my angels up there. But most specially I admire how you manage to keep up with 8 different personalities to deal with. hihi :p I will miss our bondingan moments together, when I start my duty... huhu Although I know you will still be reading my blog a lot of times... haha We love you! :)

DAY 24: Back to back Challenge

Makeup Challenge- DAY 24
Which do you like: cream, matte, powder, sheer, or shimmer eye shadows?

I was quite confused with this... If in terms of formulation type I prefer the pressed eye shadows which would come in palettes unlike powder eyeshadows which come in separate containers and are too much of a hassle to bring... When it comes to finish I prefer matte rather than shimmery eyeshadows because I could create more depths and shadows when using matte. I think shimmery eyeshadows only work best for night looks, whereas  matte eyeshadows are more versatile...

30 Day Challenge- DAY 24
Do you have saved text messages? If so, who are they from and why do you still have them?

When I was younger I used to save text messages most especially quotes, jokes etc... But now most saved messages are reminders to me sent by me... hehe

DAY 23: Back to back Challenge

Makeup Challenge- DAY 23
Favorite eye shadow palette and blush palette?

I don't have a favorite eye shadow palette as of the moment, but I frequently use my Elf beauty book... As for blush I only own one, which is the Maybelline Fit Me! :) Oh I think I have another one which I don't frequently use, it is a cream blush which is part of my Lancome travel kit...

30 Day Challenge- DAY 23
Two months ago, where were you and what were you doing?

Two months ago I was probably surfing the net, doing online shopping, and reviewing for my prelims...

Product review: Strip it Hair removal sugaring

Product review
Strip it
Hair removal Sugaring Kit

Hello there lovelies! :) Last September 30 when I attended the Glaminar Advanced workshop Ms. Myla gave me this trial kit of Strip it Hair removal sugaring. This would be a really late product review because I wanted to use it a couple of times first to really see the effect... :) When I saw it at first I did not know what to do with it or rather how to use it... I am used to just shaving or tweezing my underarm hair... Aside from the fact that I was afraid of the pain that I was anticipating, it even gave me nightmares... haha  So I finally had the courage to use it after a few days, luckily I was just too lazy the week before to shave my underarms, (I know I know its yucky!) so it was just the right time to try this baby out...haha Kidding aside, when I opened the paper bag I saw that it has instructions included so I read it a few times just to be sure that I would be doing it correctly. Then the curious me gave in and I opened the tub and started smelling the product... hihi It was very sweet, I almost put it in my mouth! haha Anyway, before subjecting myself to this sugaring thing I also went online to do my research... I found their website and found several tips on how to use it although most are already in the instruction packet included.

(* The following information are from the website of Strip it!)

I saw on the site that this tub comes in 3 sizes: 100g , 200g, and 350g. And each size has a different colored tub for easy identification, which is as follows:

100g - light pink
200g - white
350g - dark pink

When you buy, each package would include the Sugaring Wax, an instruction manual, 1 wooden applicator - Reusable (Spatula), and 2 long sheets of Reusable Cloth (Can make up to 12 strips).

According to them waxing would cause less chicken skin, and this would also promote skin lightening because of the calamansi in the solution and it is also moisturizing because of the honey, and also with regular use the hair would be thinner and sparser.

It is also "SAFE TO USE ON ANY PART OF THE BODY" such as the face , legs, underarms, bikini line or even Brazilian waxing!

STRIP IT SUGARING (WAXING) TECHNIQUE

Tagalog version: (also from their website)

Banlawan lamang at patuyuin.
(Mas maiging gumamit ng Strip It pgkatapos maligo at bago matulog)."

How I used the strip it sugaring kit:
* please bear with my pics I was using my ipod... :p And just don't mind my big legs, I know I have man-thighs... hehe I think I got this from too much dancing.... :(

Here is my sugaring kit...

It has a very thick consistency, not too runny but a bit gooey.  It smells really sweet too. (I was tempted to taste it on some occasions... hihi)
Here is a picture of my leg, before sugaring. For your reference I have very sparse and fine hair on the legs. Before applying the sugar I make sure that the area is clean and dry.
I then apply the Strip It! Sugaring in the direction of hair growth.

I then place the cloth strip on the area and rub it a few times so that it will adhere to the sugar. According to the website the cloths are reusable, just soak it in water to remove the solution and air dry. But I didn't intend to reuse the strips because it would be too tedious to wash it out then dry it, anyway there are cloth strips like this available at Watsons which retails for about Php 22 per pack of 10 I think. :)

Now here comes the hard part... The pulling... I immediately strip off the cloth going on the opposite direction of how I appplied the sugar solution. OUCH! It just stinged a little bit at first but the I got used to it after... For me surprisingly, it is actually LESS painful than tweezing!  (I really thought that this would hurt bigtime! I even had nightmares before I used this that my skin would peel off with the sugar... but boy was I wrong... It was really fun to do... haha)

And here is the end result, smooth silky legs... hihi :) I just use a damp cloth to remove the extra sugar... :) I know you wouldn't be able to appreciate it in this picture but trust me it feels like a baby's butt! hihi

BTW I first used this on my underarms and I got really good results way better than tweezing or shaving! I really love it!!! The hair grew back after about 2-3 weeks, I still haven't noticed if it was sparser but it was less coarse and it wasn't itchy when it grew back... :p

YIPEE!!!

  • Made from all natural ingredients.
  • Hypoallergenic, my sensitive skin did not react to it, just a little redness after but subsided immediately. :) (as you my dear readers would know I have skin asthma... boohoo!)
  • Has a very sweet smell! It actually reminds me of arnibal, that sweet sugary concoction used when you eat suman or mixed in with hot cocoa drinks in the provinces... Try to avoid tasting this tough, I am not quite sure if this is edible... BUT IT REALLY IS TEMPTING! :)
  • Less painful! From a scale of 1-10 on the wong-baker scale it would be a 2... :)

  • It comes in a cute tub, though some may have issues with this regarding hygiene but of course you should not share your tub with others!
  • The cloth included is reusable (washable)... you can reuse it if you don't have the time to buy new ones or you could use other types of cloths which are sturdy enough and could absorb the sugaring solution.
  • Yields better results than shaving or tweezing! The skin feels smooth and soft after. :)
  • Hair grew after about 2-3 weeks, so it means more hair free days for us! :)
  • I still did not notice any whitening effect though but maybe with regular use my pits would definitely look better... :)
BOO!!!

  • May be too gooey and messy for some people... I suggest you ask your sister, friend or hubby to do this for you if you find it a bit hard to apply... :)
REPURCHASE?

  • YES! Definitely! I would recommend this to my friends who would want to do sugaring at home.

DAY 22: Back to back Challenge

This will be another advanced post as I will probably at school for enrollment on monday... boohoo...

Makeup Challenge- DAY 22
Favorite toner?

My favorite toner would have to be the Celeteque Dermoscience Hydration toner. It doesn't have an irritating smell. I could really see that it removes those other dirt that washing can not remove and it is moisturizing not drying. It also contains witch hazel extract to soothe the skin while cleaning. And best of all it is alcohol free! it retails for about Php 82 for the 65 ml bottle, affordable right? :)

30 Day Challenge- DAY 22
What’s an inside joke you have with someone?

Hmm... I think I have lots of inside jokes with most of my friends... :p I don't think I can share them with you here as it would be too lenghty and you wouldn't prolly get it... haha :p

DAY 21: Back to back Challenge

Wee! About 9 more days left for my 30 day challenge! I will be doing a collaboration in November with a blogger friend and the give away and contest in December, so stay tuned ladies the coming months would be a blast! :)

Makeup Challenge- DAY 21
Where do you buy your makeup at?

I usually buy my makeup from Watson's or SM department stores. For other makeup essentials and other US brands which are unavailable here in the country I usually pre-order them from my favorite online shops.

30 Day Challenge- DAY 21
If you died tomorrow, what’s one thing you’d regret not doing?

I would not regret taking time off from med school to work as a nurse in a government hospital. Because of my working experience I believe it would make me a better medical practitioner in the future. And if I died tomorrow, at least I had the opportunity to serve my less fortunate countrymen to the best of my abilities and I had made their lives a little bit easier to bear when they were sick and weary.

Product review: Hollywood style peel off mask

Product Review
Hollywood Styles Herbal Formulas
Whitening peel off mask

Image taken from their website.

My tube! :)

Hello there lovelies! I got quite curious with face masks lately and when I went to Watson's about two weeks ago I picked up this one... It is the Hollywood Style Herbal Formulas Whitening peel off mask.

"Hollywood Style Herbal Care Products is an “All American Made” brand manufactured with pure natural ingredients in California. It has achieved an extraordinary reputation in the beauty industry internationally. Hollywood Style products are manufactured with the highest quality ingredients available in the industry; all carefully formulated by experienced chemists and individually batched by quality control system to make sure they are in impeccable condition before leaving the facilities."

I believe this mask that I got is part of a whole series of whitening formulas... I looked it up their official website and saw this! (click here to visit their official website!)

It is actually the sixth step in their whitening treatment line... :)

According to them the whitening peel off mask has a " Potent formula (which) dissolves dead cells and peels away debris and impurities, uncovering newer, healthier-looking skin. "

In the back label it says that the product has 100% vegan ingredients.

Ingredients:
Purified water, denatured alcohol, polyvinyl alcohol, propylene glycol, PEG-8 dimethicone, Salicylic acid, kojic dipalmitate, potassium hydroxide, retinyl palmitate (vitamin A), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), alpha arbutin, carica papaya fruit extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) extract, morus alba (mulberry) leaf extract, arctostaphylos uva ursi (bear berry) leaf extract, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) flower extract, zuue, citrus medica limonum (lemon) flower extract, anthemis nobilis (chamomile) flower extract, citrus grandis (grapefruit) fruit extract, phyllantus emblica (gooseberry) fruit extract, DMDM hydantoin.

Other Info from the product label:

Whitening peel off mask is an extra strength formula made with mulberries (well known for skin brightening properties), licorice ( great for bleaching dark spots) and arbutin (long used for skin discoloration problems). This potent formula helps to dissolve dead cells and absorbs debris and impurities, uncovering newer, healthier looking skin. With regular use complexion will be whiter, brighter and fairer.

Directions:
After washing face, apply peel off mask in an even layer (thicker at edges) avoiding, eyes, lips and hairline areas. Let dry completely. Gently peel or rub off. Remove any remaining residue with warm water and wash cloth. Follow with whitening toner and finish with one of our whitening creams.

I got the Large tube which contains about 150ml or 5.30 fl.oz. of product. It is packaged in an inverted soft tube so that product release is easy and very hygienic. When I opened it it has a seal on the tube so the product is guaranteed fresh and unused. The product is clear in color, and has a very thick gel consistency. I find it easy to apply although you have to apply it thickly and remember to avoid hairy areas as it will be very hard to peel off if it gets caught on facial hair.

Here is me, makeup-less with the peel off mask on. It was hard to put a smile on because the mask was already half dried when I remembered to take a picture... haha

When I peeled of the mask I can really feel that I am peeling away dead skin and impurities... It hurt big time the first time but I got used to it. My face felt a little tingly after and my dermatograpism (skin condition where my skin gets red then raised and inflammed when irritated) acted up but it receded after a few minutes... :p

YIPEE!!!

  • Easy to apply
  • Hygienic packaging
  • Dries quickly
  • Easy to peel off ( just follow the directions on the tube to get the desired effect!)
  • Leaves my face silky smooth. It got rid of whiteheads and blackheads on my nose... hihi :D
  • I feel a very cooling and relaxing sensation when I put it on my face. :)
  • Affordable, for this big tube I paid a little less than 200 pesos!

BOO!!!

  • Becomes a little bit runny when applied too thick
  • It might hurt a little when peeled off...
  • It has an alcohol like smell... Super strong but I don't mind... I wouldn't recommend this for those who are sensitive when it comes to smelly products though...
REPURCHASE?

Yes definitely! Aside from all the perks in whitening and exfoliating my face I love that it has all vegan ingredients. :) Aside from this maybe I would try the facial wash when I get to finish my current facial wash... :)

I can't vouch for the whitening effect though for now because I have only tried it for about three times... :)
